Job Description

Position Summary

The Payroll Clerk is accountable for the successful processing and all associated payroll duties for the biweekly payrolls for Radiant Care.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • 1-3 years working in a payroll or administrative role
  • Designation or courses through the Canadian Payroll Association are an asset
  • Strong working knowledge of Quadrant Workforce are an asset
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - both oral and written
  • Preference and ability to work with details and documentation
  • Strong prioritization, and time management skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Self-motivated and initiates follow-up as required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Proven ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships
  • Strong client and customer focus
  • Sensitivity to the unique ethnic and faith community
  • Current (within 6 months) Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening (VPS)

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing of biweekly payroll for Radiant Care Pleasant Manor and Radiant Care Tabor Manor including time verification, managing sick, float and vacation, stats.
  • Upload payroll and RRSPs and run numerous reports before pay period end.
  • Remittances to CRA, EHT, WSIB, CLAC/Unifor, and Manulife benefit premiums.
  • Together with HR, manage all leaves and contracts.
  • Billing of employee share of benefit premiums while on leave.
  • Manage terminations, payouts and ROEs.
  • Updating system for line changes, rate step increases, passing probation.
  • Manage employee benefits and RRSPs when entitlement reached, updates.
  • Understanding scheduling in HRIS, being available to support schedulers.
  • Together with HR, answer all payroll inquiries from employees and management which includes interpreting collective agreements.
  • Year End procedures including payouts, banks calculations, T4 remittances.
  • Maintain QHRnet, Worxhub and other spreadsheets and programs.
  • Supports the Senior Leadership Team by delivering reports and supports the vision, mission and values of the organization.
  • Experience with Avanti Payroll System is an asset
  • Other duties, as assigned by Supervisor
