Radiant Care Pleasant Manor

Registered Nurse (RN)
Casual, Permanent

Hourly Wage Range:   $43.57 - $62.42

General
A Casual Permanent Registered Nurse (RN) position is being offered in the Radiant Care Pleasant Manor Nursing department. The start date of this position is to be determined.

Scheduled Shifts

The schedule for an employee with a casual status is chosen by the employee.

Radiant Care offers an online system for choosing which shifts you can work; then they are assigned by seniority.

We also call team members with a casual status to fill in for sick and vacation days of other employees.

Working with a casual status is a great way to start with the Radiant Care team.

Employees working in a casual status are considered for part time and full time status before external candidates.  An employee with a casual status is part of the union and a permanent employee once they pass probation.


Qualifications

Qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to,

  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse with current CNO registration
  • Current CPR certification
  • A member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Training and education in caring for seniors in long term care and Dementia Training
  • Demonstrated Leadership Qualities
  • Demonstrated experience in documentation RAI/MDS
  • Computer literate

 

Eligibility and Selection Criteria
This posting has been posted within Radiant Care Pleasant Manor and externally.  Internal applicants will be given priority based on seniority. External candidate selection will be made based on interview. While we thank each applicant for applying, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.


Duties and Responsibilities

Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to,

  • Provides nursing care in accordance with administrative policies, physician’s orders, established standards and nursing principles
  • Develops and maintains current individual resident care plans through interdisciplinary care conferences and care planning
  • Maintains accurate and complete clinical records on all residents according to established documentation policies and procedures
  • Ensures proper recording and safe keeping of all drugs including controlled drugs and narcotics
  • Ensures strict confidentiality of all records and reports as required by the Ministry guidelines and in accordance with CNO documentation standards
  • Monitors and controls, requisitioning of drugs and narcotics
  • Assists with new resident admissions and orientation
  • Responsible for the preparation of daily duty assignment and re-allocation of staff to meet resident care plans
  • Monitors supplies and equipment to ensure appropriate usage and elimination of waste (TM: Done by ADOC)
  • Liaise with Food Services/Dietary, Therapeutic Recreation, Supporting Housing, as required
  • Organizes and assists with annual resident clinics (i.e. Eye, Foot, etc. TM Only)
  • Responsible for all notifications, documentation and medical records are completed in the event of a resident death
  • Attends Annual / Admission Review Conferences
  • Other duties as assigned by the DOC / ADOC
