Radiant Care Tabor Manor
Summer Accountant

Full-Time Temporary Contract (12 Weeks)

Job Summary

A seventy (70) hour per pay period, Temporary Full-Time Summer Accountant Contract position is being offered in the Radiant Care Tabor Manor Finance department. This is a non-union position which supports Radiant Care Tabor Manor and reports to the Assisant Director of Finance. The approximate start date of this position is to be determined and will last up to 12 weeks.

Schedule

Monday - Friday 08:00 - 16:00

Mandated Criteria

  • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.
  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
  • have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

Job Description

Eligibility and Selection Criteria
This posting has been posted on the bulletin boards and website of Radiant Care homes as well as on Indeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations
  • Uploading documentation into accounting system
  • Assist with maintaining capital asset schedules, physical verification of capital assets and associated audit documentation
  • Assist with improving internal controls
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations
  • Assist with software implementation
  • Other duties as may be assigned

Qualifications 

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Accounting or Finance is considered an asset.
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience is considered an asset.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles, including accounts receivable
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow procedures and meet deadlines
  • Agrees and supports the objectives and philosophy of the Organization and displays a caring, respectful attitude towards residents, families, and team members.
  • Sensitive to the unique, ethnic and faith community of Radiant Care
  • Strong ambassador of Radiant Care
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and together with others in a fast-paced environment
  • Computer literate, including demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (esp. Excel) and Point Click Care.
